Direct Actuation System (DAS™)
The Direct Actuation System (DAS™) is StrikeCore’s proprietary side-forward charging architecture, developed to improve weapon manipulation while maintaining a clean, low-profile configuration.
Unlike a traditional rear charging handle, DAS™ relocates the point of actuation, allowing the operator to manipulate the weapon from a more accessible position while maintaining firing-hand control and overall weapon orientation.
DAS™ is designed around a non-reciprocating, low-profile architecture that minimizes snag hazards and prevents the DAS™ actuator from reciprocating during operation.
Modernizing the Proven M4 Platform
The basic architecture of the M4 platform has remained largely unchanged for decades.
StrikeCore’s T1 Thunder™ Rifle System is designed to change that.
T1 Thunder™ combines the familiarity, sustainability, and proven architecture of the M4 platform with modern ergonomics, fully ambidextrous controls, precision manufacturing, and StrikeCore’s proprietary DAS™ Direct Actuation System.
The result is a modern rifle platform designed around the operator—without abandoning the enormous existing ecosystem of parts, training, ammunition, and support infrastructure already in service around the world.
DAS™ Is Designed To Provide:
Side-forward positioned weapon manipulation
Direct, controlled charging movement
Non-reciprocating operation
Low-profile, non-snag geometry
Improved accessibility during supported or equipped use
A clean, streamlined rifle profile
Compatibility with mission-focused handling requirements and Code Amber operations
Compatible with a standard T-handle to preserve the familiar manual of arms
Dual Charging Capability
DAS™ does not eliminate the traditional M4 charging handle.
The T1 maintains compatibility with a traditional T-handle charging system, providing operators with an additional means of manipulating the weapon.
This dual-capability approach supports:
Operator familiarity
Training continuity
Field sustainability
Redundant actuation capability
Existing manual-of-arms procedures
Code Amber Operation
The T1 is designed with Code Amber operations in mind, allowing the operator to keep the chamber clear until the weapon is needed. DAS™ provides fast, forward actuation without reaching for a T-handle—particularly useful in confined environments such as vehicles and aircraft.
Designed for Sustainment
A weapon system is only as useful as an organization's ability to support it.
StrikeCore has designed the T1 with sustainability as a core requirement.
Where practical, the platform is intended to retain compatibility with established M4-pattern components, accessories, ammunition, maintenance procedures, and armorer knowledge.
For organizations operating large existing inventories, this creates a potential path toward modernization without requiring wholesale replacement of the infrastructure surrounding the weapon.
Suppression Optimized
The T1 Thunder™ is designed with suppressed operation in mind. Its adjustable gas system allows the platform to be tuned across ammunition and suppressor configurations. When the traditional rear T-handle is removed, the optional Suppressor Safe Rear Plug installs in the charging-handle opening, helping seal against debris and reduce blowback gas toward the shooter during suppressed operation.
10.5-inch T1 Thunder™ rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO and finished in Battleship Grey Cerakote®.
