StrikeCore Participates in Michigan Drone Ecosystem Roundtable at Camp Grayling
CAMP GRAYLING, MI — September 18, 2026 — StrikeCore CEO Tim Kurtz represented StrikeCore at a roundtable focused on “Michigan’s Drone Ecosystem,” hosted by U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin with Under Secretary of the Army Mike Obadal at Camp Grayling.
The discussion brought together leaders from across Michigan’s drone, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and defense technology communities to discuss the state’s growing role in the development, manufacturing, testing, and deployment of next-generation unmanned systems.
The roundtable coincided with Under Secretary Obadal’s visit to Michigan focused on low-cost munitions, drones, autonomous systems, and manufacturing at speed and scale, including the challenges associated with disrupted supply chains.
StrikeCore was invited to participate as part of Michigan’s growing drone ecosystem and to contribute its perspective as a Michigan defense technology company developing unmanned and counter-UAS capabilities.
Building Michigan’s Drone Ecosystem
The meeting comes as Camp Grayling and the National All-Domain Warfighting Center continue expanding their role in defense technology development and testing.
The U.S. Army recently selected Camp Grayling as one of four sites in the United States being opened to private industry as part of an initiative designed to accelerate research, development, and rapid experimentation of emerging technologies, including drones and counter-drone systems.
For StrikeCore, access to realistic testing environments and direct collaboration between industry and the military represent important pieces of moving new technology from concept to operational capability.
A Michigan Technology Community
StrikeCore joined representatives from organizations across Michigan’s technology ecosystem, including the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Drone Association, Centrepolis Accelerator and a number of other Michigan UAS manufacturers.
The diversity of companies represented demonstrated the breadth of capabilities already developing within Michigan—from aircraft and propulsion to autonomy, artificial intelligence, communications, manufacturing, ISR, and supporting technologies.
From Development to the Warfighter
StrikeCore is developing Bandit™, a modular unmanned aircraft platform intended to support multiple mission configurations, including ISR and counter-UAS applications.
The company’s broader development approach emphasizes rapid prototyping, modular systems, domestic manufacturing, and testing technologies in realistic environments before transitioning them toward operational use.
The roundtable reinforced StrikeCore’s commitment to working alongside Michigan industry, government, and military partners as the state expands its role in the development and testing of next-generation defense technologies.
For StrikeCore, the objective remains simple:
Build rapidly. Test realistically. Listen to the warfighter. Improve continuously.
Strength Through Innovation.™
